We've enjoyed reading your adventures with your Metzendorf.

Just wondering if the one you just listed is actually in 'excellent condition?'

We bought a Metzendorf a couple months ago and it's been not stop fixing up, and it was listed as excellent condition inside and out.

We've done most of what you have done. We noticed the door was warped and took that apart and couldn't believe that it was mostly filled in with cardboard that had gotten wet and would have never dried out. We have kept it garaged since we've owned, so it must have been that way for sometime. My husband and son cut out a new pattern from wood and some type of foam insulation. Should be all fixed tomorrow.

We're hoping we can take on a trip before long, never thought it would need all that we have done.

We will never believe an ad that says 'excellent condition'again. At least were learning lots through this whole process.

When were finished we feel it will be in excellent condition, and hope to keep it that way. It is a changed Metzendorf--cute!

Keep up the good work.

I can't comment on whether it is an accurate assessment of condition. I search the internet for other Metzendorfs to see how they are finished inside, as they all seem to be a little different.

I have thought about starting an online Metzendorf club, as through my blog I have met quite a few Metzendorf owners. The internet has been an invaluable resource for my restoration.

would love to see the photos. I try to post photos of all Metzendorfs I find. They all seem to be different. I find it a great resource for ideas on how to improve the inside.
