shelves

I saw a photo of a metzendorf with shelving over a window. I decided to replicate it. Thought it would be good for hanging the curtains under. I still need to finish them. I thought that would be easier installed. I am going to make skinny shelved over the front and rear windows as well.

a new face

well... I would rather have it professionally painted, but this is a doit yourselfer now! I was cleaning the panels where the paint had faded away, but I didn't think this was a good panel to do it.

Propane tank

I have the original gas tank, it is the taller one. I cleaned them up and painted them silver.

More painting

Today I painted what I had primed. I debated over the aluminum paint..or white around the door. I think I like the aluminum. Yes,,,that is a Yuengling beer bottle...it was empty before it fell over.

Rustoleum... wonders

Well, the hitch was pretty rusted, so was the step and the door frame was pretty beat. So... rusty primer away!

Porta-potty installed

This was an easy one... I need to get a paper holder!

Flooring almost done

Well I started the flooring. I just need to get some quarter molding...or something for some of the edges. I am pleased with my cheap blue floor. I decided to paint some more, basically the seat bases and cabinet base. I also painted the porta-potty closet.

Rusted.

Well tonight I just worked on the door casing which is a bit rusted. I think I am going to paint it silver, no white....silver., white...oh crap, I don't know. Tomorrow supposed to be nice and warm out so I can put down the flooring.

Polishing the door

The door seems like it used to be white, but there was very little paint left. So I decided to just polish it. The framing around the door is pretty rusted. It was white, but I may paint it a silver/aluminum. There is also a bad glop of calk on the top of the window that I need to clean up and replace. The window on the door is kinda frosted. The door handle is original. I am going ot strip the paint on the aluminum above the door so the upper panels match on both sides of the camper

Cleaning the outside

Today I removed what little bit of paint that was left in the top panel. At this point I am not doing a high polish job, just cleaning her up.

cushions by day...lol

Today I put the cushions into a bed and it worked well. The cushions from Ikea have been awesome. They are 5 inches think with high density foam......will be sleeping like a baby!

Needles and pinzas

Spent the day...what am I saying..weekend sewing. I am still going to put batting in the cushions. But here is the first set in the dorf. I have one more bottom to do! The cushion on the back was the first one I did. I can pull it in more since that one is lil baggy....but also might fill out with the batting. We'll see. This is the first time I have ever done this...So it was an adventure.

The flooring

I think after seeing it in daylight...I am going for the blue flooring! The dark flooring has all the colors..but I just think the blue is best for the dorf.

Flooring

I have decided to put in vinyl flooring, sigh, until I find the budget for linoleum. I found a really retro piece of blue speckle vinyl for less than 20 bucks...1/10 the cost of linoleum. I am still floundering on whether or not to use something that bridges into this decade and ties all the colors together. Will have to post photos tomorrow.

Floor to ceiling

Today I started on the floor...no way was the linoleum going to come all the way up...so I decided to just lay new subflooring. It didn't take too long...since there isn't much floor! Then I started on the ceiling...seemed warm enough. I primed the ceiling and used some paint I had from the house. The colors don't come out so well in the photos...looks better live.

Linoleum or Vinyl???

The camper originally had linoleum tile floors. Linoleum mainly comes in sheets now. The product is environmentally friendly...unlike vinyl. It is made from a schmultz of linseed oil and saw dust. I love the colors. So what is the problem you say... cost. The cost of the flooring in squares is between $5-7 a square foot. I don't need that much...but vinyl is about $1 a square foot. Being environmentally friendly ain't cheap!!
I lean towards the Forbo Marmoleum Click tiles.
