Hula's new awning!

Hula got a new awning and then got to go camping for a beautiful week-end of camping in northern Indiana in late October. Looks great! I have a question. I see you have ac where most have propane tanks. Do you not have a propane system?

No, we do not have propane. We have an electric heater if we get cold and also we have a 10 gallon holding tank for fresh water with a pump at the sink. If I want hot water, I plug in my hotpot.

I am sure that originally it did have propane. This was the way the trailer was when we bought it. There is no stove in Hula. I don't really like to cook inside anyway and the AC is so nice. Inside you don't really see the AC unit because it is underneath the dinette table.

Hello, I have a 1973 Metzendorf camper that is very simular to yours and it has been a lot of fun. I also don't use any propane in my camper eventhough it is equiped for it. I just thought I would drop you this comment on the fact that your camper looks great. I wish more people would recycle the old campers from the "Good ole' Days", they are way more enjoyable than the cheap junk built today.

Hello, I just wanted to say that your camper is really nice. I have a 1973 Metzendorf, same size and style. The older vintage campers are so fun to camp in, not to mention the comments you recieve from fellow campers. I live in Western, NY and I find it very difficult to obtain info on "Metzendorf" campers. I have owned mine now for five years and restored it myself, it is truly the best thing I have ever purchased. I just thought I would comment on yours as I am always delighted to see another Metzendorf out there that someone is enjoying.

Thank you for the nice comments on our 1960 Metzendorf. We previously owned a new Casita travel trailer and as nice as it was, and it was nice, we are having more fun in our restored Metzendorf than we can imagine. Who couldn't have fun in a trailer named "Hula" filled with fun vintage hawaiian fabrics and accessories. We have a blast and cannot wait until the cold winter is gone and we can go camping once again.
